The Autumn Rose
Once there was a Garden
It flourished witb greenery
Rainbow coloured blooms
And rich lush trees
It was pleasant to walk there
Beauty was in every flower
And a gentle stream trickled by
Into a pool so crystal clear
But amidst the wonder of it all
One rather plain flower stood alone
Forgotten in the garden splendour
Forgotten by visitors to the glade
Yet the Gardener tended it well
And as the seasons moved on round
Till Summer Sun was gone away
The plant bloomed loveliest of all
Sweet was her fragrance
Soft her petals snooth
But an ordinary plant still she
Unless you have the eyes to see
The Gardener beheld and saw
Not an ordinary garden flower
But the sweetest of the sweet
Wondrous flower: the Autume Rose
While other flowers fade away
In Winter's cold chill breeze
Eternally pretty does she stay
Such the legend of the Autumn Rose
And in your world about you
Wandering in the Garden of Life
May you see and understand
That legend true and wise:
The Autumn Rose
