EMPLOYMENT

Self Employed IT and Business Consultant

(September 1997 - present)

I went back to running TCB Consulting Ltd. full time. Involved in a number of projects for a variety of organisations focussing on creating systems and procedures to support the administration of Employee Share Option Plans (ESOPs) for large multi-national organisations as well as working with the Jersey government and other Jersey organisations.

Mourant du Feu & Jeune (April 1996 - September 1997)

July 1996 - September 1997 Operations Manager

Running the operational side of the organisation managing a team of 40 people responsible for facilities, the IT, building, communications, word processing, information services, archiving, projects, desk top publishing, selection and management of suppliers and purchasing.

April 1996 - July 1996 Project manager

Setting up a projects culture within the organisation and running various projects for the Managing Partner. Projects were mainly in the area of Business Process Re-engineering, profitability improvement and IT.

I continued to run TCB Consulting Ltd. as well as working full time at Mourant du Feu & Jeune

Self Employed IT and Business Consultant and Property Manager

(July 1995 - April 1996)

Set up and ran my own business (TCB Consulting Ltd.) providing IT and business consultancy to local businesses and providing property and company management services to a local property group.

BOC Gases Europe (October 1985 - July 1995)

March 1993 - June 1995 Global Project manager

Main task:
designing and implementing a new delivery process for the BOC Group world-wide which was introduced into 10 countries (300 branches, 4000 vehicles) and involved me visiting and co-ordinating project teams in each of those countries.

Secondary tasks:
running a group of 8 people working on “structured systems development methodology” in the UK, and a group of up to 10 people working on other projects based in the UK.

April 1992 - March 1993 Project Management Consultant

Developing and installing an engineering project management process for the company as part of its “Best Operating Practices” initiative. This process is currently in use on contracts worth up to £40 million within the company on both sides of the Atlantic.

October 1990 - April 1992 Departmental Project Manager

Managing the development and implementation of various systems in a strictly controlled cost environment including order taking systems, time recording system, customer profile system, management information systems.

June 1986 - October 1990 Data Analyst to Departmental Project Leader

Working within the Planning and Control section of the Information Technology Department:
formulating BOC's systems development strategy and implementing it;
selecting, implementing, training and doing Quality Assurance on the “Inforem” system development methodology
developing standards and providing consultancy on them;
managing a team automating the documentation of system development.

Writing software for the distribution and engineering parts of the business

ACTIVITIES , INTERESTS AND OTHER INFORMATION:

I am interested in renovating and maintaining classic cars and classic car rallying
I am keen on sailing, ski-ing and golf (member Royal Jersey Golf Club).
I founded the Sports and Social club at BOC and spent a year as Treasurer
I speak and write French and speak and write some German.
I hold a full driving licence, I am a member of the Institute of Advanced Motorists and I hold an HGV class 1 licence
