Ancient Domains Of Mystery
ADOM is a game (written by Thomas Biskup) which falls under the category
of 'Roguelike games', adventure games that work on a turn basis, with an
ASCII display.
This page contains links to a number of good websites containing information
on ADOM, and on playing it (including spoilers), but there is also a link
to my own 'ADOM strategy guide', which is very useful to all players, although
it contains literally no spoilers - only tactics.
There is also a newsgroup for discussion of adom, rec.games.roguelike.adom.
The Official ADOM website
can be found here, and is maintained by Thomas himself. It holds all
the official information on current and upcoming releases, as well as a
number of links.
One
of the most impressive ADOM sites can be found here, a collection of links
to ADOM resources, and a very nice search utility, along with 'The
Tales of Adventure'. It does contain links to spoilers, and I had a couple
of problems connecting with netscape, because I don't have a MIDI plugin.
Richard
Fowler's pages are my personal favourites, because of their very
unique style, and flair. He has a number of links to resources, and a very
clever tour of the Drakalor Chain. The tour is very dependant upon
Javascript, and if you have problems with JS, you might be stuck. Spoilers
do abound if you continue.
My strategy guide
can be accessed on the web here, or via ftp
here. These links only function when I am actually online (typically
UK daytime hours - 9 to 10). If you are outside those hours, and would
like a copy, you can either pick it up in rec.games.roguelike.adom (I post
it about once a week), or can email me for a copy.
