Labourers
Probably one of the most unappealing and uninspiring sights is the inside
of a refuse storage area. However, the collection and timely disposal
of domestic refuse from a hospital is as essential as anything else; if
someone did not clear and dispose of the domestic refuse then things would
become unbearable almost immediately and trolleys and beds could not move;
within a few days rats would appear and disease would be transmitted by
flies.
Domestic refuse collection point

A labourer cleans these walls with disinfectant on a regular basis for
the sake of hygiene. This refuse collection point will probably be emptied
four or five times a day by loading its contents onto the back of a lorry.
The waste has been tidily compacted so that the driver (from the Labour
Pool) of the domestic waste collection lorry does not need to make so
many journeys to the Bellozanne refuse incinerator and enables him to
perform other important tasks such as erecting scaffolding at the Ambulance
Station for the Hospital painters.
