People driving in from the West of the Island every day will be familiar
with the sight of this chimney. It is in fact the chimney of the General
Hospital boiler house. This view of the boiler house chimney is from the
roof of the Gwyneth Huelin Wing.
The height of the chimney is sufficient to ensure that patients are not
subjected to unnecessary smoke as it towers above Rozel Ward on the Parade
side (phase 2), the highest Ward in the Hospital.
