Inside the fitters shop can be found seven work benches and a couple
of desks in a small office. White lines are painted around each separate
area which act as guidelines for the safety of people walking by someone
working - perhaps on a metal rod which might be invisible if at a certain
angle.
The fitters' shop lathe
Pictured here is the fitters shop lathe. Although this lathe is approximately
a quarter of a century old, it still performs the precision tasks for
which it was made.
