Once the wing frame is installed, the door can be fitted. Planning and
Environment stipulated that any repair must conform perfectly to the original
piece.
This entrance dates back to around 1870 and is typical of Jersey architecture
of that period.
Ready for installation

Two woods are used to produce this wing frame. The sill is made of Brazilian
mahogany and the wing frame is of red deal. The lower panels of the two
wings are 'raised and fielded' in contrast to having a flush area at the
centre of the field. The inserts in the inside edges of the two fielded
panels are moulded in the fashion of that period only, as this style changed
slightly soon after that date.
