The Chapel at Montligeon Day 14 Back into the forest after my wonderfull rest at Mr M's. I followed an old railway through the forest ~ The Church at Autheuil and then out into the fields at St Ouen's. It was hot again and I was walking on 1:100,000 maps, but I found my way ~ just ~ and had a long rest in the woods at mid-day.
The country changed dramatically as I left another forest and entered the "Perche" region. It was a long days walking ~ 11 hours ~ before reaching la Chapelle-Montligeon. It was an unexpected town with a very grand church and several shops and a bar ~ where after refreshing myself I accepted a lift to the local campsite ~ next to a very noisy Gite d' Etape.

The forest path. Day 15 and tired after the previous day ~ I planned a short stage. I wandered around the edge of a forest with pretty country cottages ~ I must have reached the area where the wealth of Paris was spreading out.
The B and B at Tourouvre France is full of guard dogs, and today I was not on good terms with them. Firstly I was attacked by 2 family dogs out for a mornings walk ~ then 2 of the biggest savagest brutes you could imagine confrounted me near an "Abbee" in the forest ~ and were called off by the guardienne, after about 10 minutes barking and showing their teeth ~ and finally a big black beast came out into the road to frighten me off his territory.
I reached Tououvre my destination shortly after mid-day on this Sunday. There was no campsite, a Gite d' Etape, but it was full for the week-end. All the shops were closed. The hotel did no accomodation on Sunday evenings ~ but very kindly suggested and aranged Bed and Breakfast just out of town. It was luxury ~ company ~ food ~ and room ~ but cost me 230FF. ~ steep at the time but on reflection ~ not bad at all.

The hotel at Chennebrun Day 16 setting out ~ not sure what the day will bring ~ or how it will end. There was a long and pleasant tour of the Foret du Perche in the morning ~ An old farm by the wayside. and I crossed the watershead between the Atlantic and the Loire valley ~ and into the Seine and Channel. ~ An important moment. Then it was into dry open farmland and cornfields. I made Chennebrun around 4pm ~ There were no shops or camping ~ just the Hotel/Bar ~ where after some deliberation the lady agreed to acommodate and feed me for the night. ~ All downhill to Paris now.
