I stayed at a camping site who were kind to look-after my motorbike, and hit the trail at 8am.
Oh a pleasant wander through the town ~ a bun ~ and then start to climb out through the suburbs ~
Slowly up ~ looking over the blue Atlantic ~ and finally a grassy hilltop ~ this is fine.
Down again ~ out and under the Autoroute ~ a village ~ then oh god! ~ and a mountain to climb!
The river and Spain fall away below and a pleasant walking trail leads eventually to lunch
on the col d'Osin (374m) and a nice stop and a rest. Oh I must be a mountain climber now!!
You can see "La Rhune" (900m) perched like a fairy castle atop it's peak ~ complete with mountain railway ~
I hope we don't have to climb that! Then over another hilltop is a Spanish shopping center ~
had me foxed and entertained for an hour buying food for the evening and next day. So I camped soon
after atop a hill ~ amongst ruins ~ shade ~ and a wonderfull water supply. 4hrs 40m
in the book ~ but it had taken me all day!
