I am delighted to welcome you to this developing Web Site. The Religious Studies department at Victoria College comprises of the delivery of all Religious Studies teaching to Key Stage 3 and 4 which includes the compulsory GCSE short course taken by all boys at the end of year 10. This course has introduced a new rigour to the delivery of Religious Studies in Victoria College and satisfies the requirements expected through the Jersey Curriculum for Religious Studies at this Key Stage.

Religious Studies is also available in the 6th Form to Advanced level having a focus on the Philosophy of Religion and Biblical Studies.

Advanced Level Philosophy is also another exciting option chosen by many Sixth Form candidates as a suitable companion to the study of English or other subjects.

Over the past five years Religious Studies and Philosophy have become very acceptable subjects for many Universities as they seek to recruit candidates with wider education experience in their 'A' Level choices.

I am grateful to William Layzell and Stuart Battersby for the hard work they have undertaken to produce this Web page in support of the teaching and learning of Religious Studies at Victoria College. I hope that this will not be a static picture but will grow with the support of many involved in the department and become an effective means of communication for the department.

You will find much to explore over these pages, revision notes for those on GCSE courses, 'A' level essays for those interested in Philosophy or Theology. In particular you will be able to explore the many link pages, which open up for us an insight into the World Wide Web.
